Description

Teddy bear - 5 shows a girl bear cub in a full pink dress with a yellow bodice, standing under blue flowers.

What the picture shows

The dress is worked in tiers of pink and lilac beads, each row a shade lighter than the last, with a yellow bodice. A small bow of pink and green beads sits on her head. The ginger face with its large eyes stays as print, while the ears, paws and shoes are outlined in beads. Two blue star-shaped flowers with red centres have opened at the upper right, and a posy of yellow, red and blue rosettes lies at the lower left. The striped pastel ground and the small elephant below are printed. An orange bead frame runs around the edge. There are 11 colours. The skirt is worked from the hem upwards, tier by tier, or the folds come out uneven. The two blue flowers above are worked separately: they are the only cool patches in a warm piece and balance the posy below.
