Description

Stork gift shows a stork in a blue cap standing beside a nest with a sleeping baby, above a fairy-tale town.

What the picture shows

The bird is worked in white beads with a black wing and red legs, long rows running down the neck and back. The beak is orange and a small blue cap sits on its head. To the right lies a nest of brown and amber beads holding a white-and-blue bundle with the baby. A tiled roof laid in golden rows runs along the bottom. The pastel town with its tower, green hill and chimneys stays as print on the canvas — only the foreground is beaded. There are 9 colours. The stork’s neck is worked as a single row from the top down: if that row drifts, the whole bird loses its posture. The tiles below are worked in sloping rows following the pitch of the roof, and they carry the whole lower part of the piece.
