Description

“Star” is one large pearl-white star on deep blue with a Christmas greeting beneath it. Few details, plenty of shine.

What the picture shows

The canvas is a saturated blue with printed snowflakes that stay as background. A five-pointed star fills the centre, worked in white and pearl beads: the rows run tight from point to point, with a pale lilac circle gathered at the middle. Four small snowflakes sit around it, two lilac and two pale blue, each with six arms. Along the bottom “Merry Christmas” is written out in white beads on two lines, bead by bead, so the lettering reads like fine handwriting. The blue ground is never beaded over — it is the contrast with it that gives the star its soft glow. The kit holds five colours, and the piece lives on the shifts between white, pearl and pale blue.
