Description

South night – 4 shows a flowering branch and a turquoise butterfly above a terrace with lanterns at the water’s edge.

What the picture shows

The upper half is taken by a branch of pink blossom: each flower is worked in pink and lilac beads with golden stamens, the leaves in green and turquoise. A butterfly sits on the right, its wings laid in turquoise and blue with white dots along the rim and a dark body. Below, the blue view stays as print: a balustrade, two lanterns with a warm glow, a round table under a white cloth and water beyond the parapet. Only a few accents on the railing and the fallen petals are beaded. The 10 colours keep to a blue-and-pink range. The butterfly is worked separately, wing by wing, so the white dots along the rim fall evenly and symmetrically. The flowering branch follows, top to bottom, and the few accents on the balustrade go in at the end.
