Description

Son's birthday – 1 has blue booties under a shelf of toys — the companion piece to the pink version. Same idea, different palette.

What the picture shows

The shelf at the top repeats the same printed toys — giraffe, teddy, presents and sweets on a pink ground — but its edge is outlined in blue and white beads with a pearly sheen. Below, on a pale blue ground, lie two booties: the uppers in cream and white beads, the trim and laces in turquoise and blue, with blue bows worked on top. A band of small blue flowers runs along the very bottom. The background is left unbeaded, so the beadwork reads as separate relief over the printed image. Seven colours make a restrained, almost monochrome blue scheme with cream inserts.
