Description

“Snowy night” sets a crescent moon above spruce branches on a blue-turquoise sky full of snowflakes. A quiet piece with no lettering at all.

What the picture shows

The background is a printed night sky shading from deep blue at the top to turquoise at the bottom, with faint stars in it. A crescent moon hangs in the upper left, worked in white and pearl beads with a gold edge along its inner curve. From the top right corner a wide fan of spruce branches sweeps down: the needles are laid in long rows of blue, cobalt, turquoise, white and gold beads, growing denser towards the bottom. Six-armed snowflakes in white, turquoise and blue are scattered between them, along with single gold beads. The sky is left unbeaded, so the beaded rays glow against the soft printed ground. Nine colours in all.
