Description

Mischievous cupid shows a little angel tying a large red bow under an arch of roses.

What the picture shows

The arch above is worked from pink and crimson rosettes with pale blue flowers and green leaves, curving around the figure. The bow on the right is laid in red beads: two wide loops and long ends falling below. The angel’s wings are done in white and pale blue, while the hair stays as print. A band of pink and red hearts, each only a few beads, runs along the bottom with a thin bead line above it. A row of yellow beads closes the piece at the top. The pale ground with its small flowers is left bare. There are 8 colours. The red bow is done last — it is the brightest element and has to lie over the arch. The band of hearts along the bottom uses only a few beads each, spaced at equal intervals so the row reads as deliberate.
