Description

Merry Christmas – 1 has a ginger kitten peeping out from behind a pair of ice skates, with a Christmas wreath closing above. The ground is warm terracotta, with no hint of cold.

What the picture shows

The wreath is built from dark green needles in long green beads, with red berries and white flowers with yellow centres woven through it and a red bow of burgundy beads at the top. The skates at the centre are worked in white and blue: the boots outlined in blue, the uppers filled with white beads, the blades below in silver and pearl rows. A blue lace, also beaded, shows at the lower left. The kitten itself — ginger fur, white whiskers, dark eyes — stays as print, as does the terracotta ground with its printed snowflakes. Eight bead colours, three of them going to the greens of the wreath.
