Description

Happy Wedding – 5 shows two bear cubs dressed for a wedding: the bride in a veil, the groom in a grey cap.

What the picture shows

The veil is worked in white beads — the long skirt and train fill the whole lower half, with the rows laid in arcs so the fabric looks gathered. The bride wears a crown of pink and lilac flowers with green leaves. The groom’s cap is grey with a beaded peak, and a grey ribbon falls on the left. The cubs’ faces stay as print, a warm beige with brown shadows, with the outlines and ears traced in beads. The pink ground with its printed hearts is left bare. There are 8 colours. The veil is done last: the white arcs have to lie over everything else, or the folds look flat. The bride’s flower crown is worked after the veil — otherwise the white arcs cover the flowers and rows have to be unpicked.
