Description

Happy New Year – 3 has a street lantern glowing warm yellow in blue dusk, with two tits on a branch beneath it. A quiet winter without the holiday bustle.

What the picture shows

The lantern carries the densest beadwork: the dome and crown in gold and bronze, the post in rows of black and silver running almost to the bottom of the piece. Inside the lantern the warm printed light is left as it is, with a small wreath of red berries laid over it in red beads. Raised snowflakes of white and silver beads — a few beads each — are scattered across the blue ground. Snow-laden branches with white caps and green needles fill the lower corners. The birds and the houses in the background stay as print. Nine colours run from cold blue to warm gold.
