Description

Happy Angel Day – 2 shows two child angels against a blue sky: the older one holds an armful of forget-me-nots, the younger a posy of red flowers.

What the picture shows

The wings are worked in white beads as long feathers and are the most visible stitched detail. The older angel’s green dress is beaded along the folds in green and turquoise, and the hands hold a dense head of blue forget-me-nots with yellow centres and a pink ribbon. The younger stands on the left in a white shift with red flowers. Another clump of forget-me-nots and a white daisy sit at the lower right. Faces, hair and blue sky stay printed: the beads pick out wings, flowers and clothing rather than covering the ground. The 9 colours keep to a cool range. The wings, built from long white feathers, are the most visible part, and uneven rows show at once, so they deserve care. The forget-me-nots are worked as a head, a few beads per flower, and fill space quickly.
