Description

Happy Angel Day – 1 shows a full basket of lilies of the valley and violets with two white doves flying above. It is a quiet, almost pastel piece.

What the picture shows

The bouquet occupies the lower two thirds and carries the densest beadwork: blue and purple violets with yellow centres, the white bells of lilies of the valley, small pink florets, and long green leaves made from elongated beads between them. The basket at the bottom is worked in dark brown and black rows. An oval arc of bronze and gold beads closes the composition above, and inside the oval the printed landscape stays as it is: sky, trees and a distant house. The two doves and the yellow ribbon on the left are printed as well. The pale green background is left unbeaded. Ten bead colours carry the whole floral range.
