Description

“Happiness in little things” sets three red flowers above a drawn glass jar. It uses fewer beads than anything else in the series.

What the picture shows

The jar is drawn in a thin black line straight onto the printed field: you can see the thread on the neck, the ridges of the glass and a banner reading “JUST WANT TO SAY…” on a coral ground. Only the flowers are beaded — three dense heads like carnations, their petals laid in concentric circles in two shades of red, deeper at the centre and brighter towards the rim. The stems, the narrow leaves and the fine budded sprigs stay printed in a muted green. All the rest of the sheet is white and unbeaded. Two bead colours are enough here, because the whole effect comes from relief: the flowers stand above the flat drawing and cast a shadow on it.
