Bead Embroidery Postcard Kit "Flowers are in the umbrella"
Description
Flowers are in the umbrella shows a pink umbrella lying on its side, with lilac and blue blossom spilling out of it.
What the picture shows
The canopy is worked in pink and crimson beads segment by segment, the rim outlined in a lighter row, and the crook handle laid in pearl beads. A full pink bow is tied to the handle. Dense hydrangea heads tumble out of the inside — purple, lilac, white and pale blue, each built from small rosettes — with green leaves between them. The background, a blue sky with white clouds, stays as print and is deliberately left unbeaded, so the pink canopy looks almost three-dimensional against it. There are 10 colours. The canopy is worked first, segment by segment: if the rows drift, the umbrella loses its shape and turns into a blur. The hydrangea heads are built from small rosettes pressed close together, and it is that density that makes them look like real flower heads.
