Bead Embroidery Postcard Kit "Easter – 1"

Easter – 1 shows a yellow chick peeking out from behind a willow branch and a cluster of forget-me-nots. The mood is quiet and spring-like, the way old Easter cards used to look.

What the picture shows

Two plant groups hold the composition together. A willow branch runs up the left side: the fluffy catkins are worked in white beads with darker specks, the stem in brown and bronze. Forget-me-nots are scattered below and to the right — blue petals with yellow centres, paler buds beside them and green leaves. The chick itself, with its soft yellow down, and the outline of a second chick behind it stay as full-colour print on the canvas; the beads outline the plants and bring them forward, while the warm cream and ochre background is left unbeaded. The ten bead colours are split between white, blue, green and the browns of the branches.
