Description

Dear Mama – 2 shows a turquoise cat with a large bunch of meadow flowers, a puppy beside it and a girl peeping round a door behind.

What the picture shows

The cat sits in the centre: the silhouette is outlined in blue beads, rows of pale blue run along its back, and a white strip finishes the base. The bouquet above is built from round rosettes — yellow, red, pink, lilac, white — each flower worked separately so the head looks three-dimensional. A pink branch hangs on the left, a white-and-ginger puppy sits on the right, and a yellow duckling shows behind. The girl, the door and the pale blue ground stay as print — the beads work on the flowers and the cat. The 9 colours are mostly warm. The bouquet is made of dozens of separate rosettes and takes most of the working time, since each flower starts from its centre. The cat is outlined in a single line at the end, once the flowers are in place.
