Description

Congratulations – 16 shows a violin and bow laid on a sheet of music, with red berries and green leaves beside them.

What the picture shows

The violin is worked in brown and amber beads along the body, the neck and pegs in black, the strings as a single row of pale beads. The bow crosses the frame on the diagonal. Red drapery falls on the left, laid in long rows of red and crimson beads with white highlights, and is the largest stitched area. The music lies below: the sheet with its staves stays as print, and only the clusters of red berries and the dark green leaves are beaded. The grey ground is left bare. The 9 colours keep to a warm range. The red drapery is the largest stitched area and is done first, while the hand is still fresh. The violin is outlined after it, and the strings are laid as a single row at the end, once body and neck are in place.
