Description

Congratulations – 11 shows a small bouquet of red, pink and yellow roses threaded with tiny white flowers.

What the picture shows

The roses are worked in spiral rows, each with its own shade: red with a dark heart, pink with a pale rim, yellow with an amber sheen, and one smaller red bloom above. Between them are scattered white flowers like lily of the valley, worked as short columns. The leaves are large and dark green, edged with a lighter green. The cream ground with its faint washes stays as print, so the bouquet reads as laid on top of it. The 10 colours are split between the three flower groups and the foliage. Each rose is worked separately from the heart outwards, and the whole bouquet is built on that. The small white flowers are slotted in last, once it is clear how much free space is left.
