Description

Best wishes shows a girl with an armful of lilac flowers standing at an open white door, with flowering trees in tubs on either side.

What the picture shows

The door and wall stay as watercolour print, while the beads go into everything around them: the pink blossom on the branches is worked as round rosettes in lilac, crimson and pink, the leaves in two greens. The bouquet in the girl’s arms is the densest part — purple and blue flowers gathered into a head. Her dress is beaded in turquoise and blue along the folds, and her hair is left printed. Below you can see stone paving and planters outlined in grey beads. Of the 7 colours, most are lilacs and greens. The tree crowns are made of dozens of small rosettes and are the longest part, with each placed by eye as you go. The bouquet in the girl’s arms is worked at the end, once its edge against the door is clear.
