Description

“Be pleased of your life!” shows two kites in the sky, one carrying a sun and the other a bird. A children's subject, treated very plainly.

What the picture shows

The large kite on the left is worked in four panels — blue, green, yellow and pale blue — with black beads run round the outline, so the diamond reads as drawn. A sun leans against its upper corner: a yellow disc with short rays and a smiling printed face. The second, smaller kite hangs on the right and is built from green, turquoise and dark blue panels, with a printed blue bird sitting on it. The tail of the left kite stays printed — a thin line hung with coloured bows. The polka-dot and striped clouds, and the words “you are my Sunshine”, are printed too. The white ground is left unbeaded: all nine colours go into the two kites and the sun.
