Baby girl – 1 shows a stork standing beside a pink pram with a sleeping baby inside. Small clothes hang on a line above them.

What the picture shows

The background is printed pink gingham, and along the top runs a drawn washing line with tiny shirts, rompers and pegs. The pram at lower right is beaded: gold and bronze rows on the body and wheels, white and pink on the hood and pillow, small red dots standing in for a pattern. The stork on the left is left as print — white plumage, black flight feathers, an orange beak holding a pink ribbon. Beaded flowers are scattered around: red five-petal blooms with white centres, white daisies and green leaves. The baby's face is printed too. Eight colours are not many, but they carry the whole pink-red-green scheme.
