Description

Baby boy – 1 has an infant in a blue wrap looking straight out at the viewer inside a wreath of flowers. The mood is bright and a little naive.

What the picture shows

The oval around the baby is outlined with a string of white pearl beads, and the space around it is filled with beaded flowers: red and crimson blooms with white or yellow centres, white daisies, small blue buds and thick green foliage. A wide golden-brown arc of bronze beads supports the oval from below. The baby itself — pink face, blue blanket, a large blue bow — stays as full-colour print, as do the two butterflies above, one yellow, one blue. The pale blue background is left unbeaded. The ten bead colours are arranged so that red and green hold the wreath while white and gold draw the outline.
