Description

A present for the darling shows a pink bundle tied with a dark blue bow, set among roses and forget-me-nots.

What the picture shows

The bundle at the centre is worked in pink and crimson beads in vertical stripes, with a golden band above it and a large blue bow with two wide loops laid over that. Pink roses with spiral hearts and white outlines are scattered around, and dense heads of pale blue forget-me-nots sit above and below. White lace, worked in fine beads, runs around the oval. An empty cream label — a place to write, and printed — is left on the right. The dark brown patterned ground is not stitched either. There are 9 colours. The blue bow is done last: it has to lie over the bundle, or the loops get lost among the stripes. The lace around the oval is worked in fine beads with gaps left between them, and it takes more patience than anything else here.
