Description

“Floral story” is a border of pansies, roses, daffodils and pink daisies around a pastel centre with a bouquet in a white jug.

What the picture shows

A continuous band of pansies runs along the top and bottom edges — gold, purple, blue, lilac and cream, with yellow centres and dark veining. Top left, inside a gold frame, sits a bouquet with a crimson dahlia and roses; below it yellow daffodils with small blue flowers. Top right there is a heart-shaped wreath of turquoise and green beads, and under it a tall arch of pink daisies on thin stems. The octagonal centre window is edged with a peach bead band and triangular corners; inside, a printed pastel bouquet in a white jug remains. Beads cover the petals, leaves and borders, while the watercolour ground and the central bouquet stay printed on the canvas.
