“Winter tea” — a girl in a red dress inside a glass globe, where a large teapot pours a shower of hearts into a bowl. The subject is fairy-tale and warm despite the wintry ground.

What the picture shows

On a pale blue field covered with large openwork snowflakes, a transparent globe is outlined on a golden base of several beaded rows. Inside, on the left, stands a tall footed bowl; small red hearts fall into it from the spout of a pink flowered teapot hovering above. The girl in a red dress and boots is turned away from the viewer, holding one of the garlands. Hearts in red, orange and pink hang around her on fine threads, and a gift box and a sprig of holly lie at the base. The fill is partial: beads cover the globe, the teapot, the bowl, the girl, the hearts, the gift and the snowflakes, while the painted blue ground stays printed on the canvas.
