Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Wild lily"

“Wild lily” — a wreath of lilies, poppies and clematis laid out in a ring on a light ground. The piece is summery and juicy, like a garden warmed by the sun.

What the picture shows

The flowers are gathered into a ring along the edges of the canvas, leaving the middle light and open. The lilies lead: an orange-red one with swept-back petals at the top left, a large red bloom with a yellow heart on the right, and two tiger lilies with speckled petals and long stamens below. Between them sit a blue-violet clematis, lilac and pale blue blossoms, teal sprigs with tiny buds, dark green and lime foliage, thin tendrils and stems. The beadwork is partial: you bead the flowers, leaves and shoots, while the white canvas in the centre and in the corners stays as print and works as air around the wreath. The ring layout is comfortable to stitch — you can work it in blocks, flower by flower.
