Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Wild ash cluster"
Description
“Wild ash cluster” is an autumn still life: rowan branches in a clay jug, a candle in a bronze holder and a yellow apple on the table.
What the picture shows
The branches spread wide, almost across the whole picture: cut green leaves and heavy clusters of red-orange berries. The jug is ceramic, a warm ochre colour, with a narrow neck and a round body. On the left stands a tall bronze candlestick with a pale candle; below, on the table, lie a yellow apple and a few fallen berries. The table is covered with green cloth, and a yellow-and-white embroidered napkin falls on the right. The background is pale ochre with a pink glow at the top. Coverage is partial: the berries, leaves, jug, candlestick, apple and napkin are worked in beads, while the background and the tabletop stay printed on the canvas. The composition is wide and asymmetrical: the branches run off the edges of the picture while the candlestick anchors the left side. The palette is warm — red, green and ochre — and carries an October mood well.
