What the picture shows

At the centre is a large pink-and-white lotus with pointed petals, two buds below it on a green stem. A crescent unfolds behind: its right arc is filled solidly with small pink and crimson blossoms with white centres, while the left is marked by a thin pink outline. The background is blue, shifting from pale sky to deep ultramarine, with spiral rosettes of turquoise and white beads scattered in the corners like curling waves. Along the bottom, horizontal rows indicate the water and a narrow band of green leaves. The beading is partial: beads cover the lotus, the crescent, the rosettes, the stars and the lines of water, while the painted blue ground stays as print on the canvas.
