Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Venice lights"

“Venice lights” — evening over the canal: a stone bridge, a lamp with warm lights and gondolas at the mooring. The picture seems to glow from within, as evenings do.

What the picture shows

A wrought-iron lamp with three shades burning yellow rises in the left foreground. Behind it a wide arched bridge lined with shops spans the canal, worked in sky-blue, lilac and white beads. A row of Venetian façades stretches to the right: pink, ochre and terracotta, with arched windows and balconies. The sky is pink-lilac, late in the day. The lights are reflected in the water in long vertical strokes, the prows of two gondolas darken at the lower right, and a pot of red flowers stands at the foot of the lamp. The beading is partial: beads cover the bridge, the lamp, the façades, the flowers, the gondolas and the reflections in the water, while the sky and part of the water stay as print on the canvas.
