Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Under the water"
Description
“Under the water” — a small school of rays gliding through the water among tiny fish and floral patterning. The piece is light and a little fanciful.
What the picture shows
The ground is watercolour water: white-green at the upper left, saturated blue to the right and below, with bleeds and white gaps. The largest ray sits on the right, deep blue, its wing edged with white lacework and its back patterned with pink corals, coloured rosettes and dots. Four smaller rays occupy the left and centre: crimson with white spots, blue-violet, green and turquoise, each with its own patterning. Tiny fish and wavy ribbons of weed thread between them, with small flowers scattered about. The fill is partial: beads cover the rays, the fish, the weed and the flowers, while the painted water with its soft colour transitions stays printed on the canvas.
