Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Under the umbrella"
Description
“Under the umbrella” — a lone figure with a red umbrella and a small dog on a wide road under a golden evening sky. The picture is quiet and almost graphic.
What the picture shows
The sky is painted in broad strokes, from olive-grey at the top to warm gold and honey near the horizon. Against it, the silhouettes of houses and sharp spires of a distant town are drawn in white. Tall lamp posts with coiled spiral tops and blue-and-yellow shades rise across the whole canvas, laid out as a dotted line of light beads. Below lies a cobbled road woven from rows of small terracotta and blue beads. A dark figure with a red umbrella stands at the centre, a little dog running beside it. The palette is restrained — only five bead colours. The beading is partial: beads mark the lamps, the road, the umbrella and the horizon line, while the painted sky and town stay as print on the canvas.
