Description

“Tansparent autumn” — a park alley in October: paving under fallen leaves, a lamp post and an empty bench. A quiet piece, with light filtering through the crowns.

What the picture shows

A tiled path runs the length of the canvas, strewn with fallen leaves. To the left and overhead spread crowns in yellow, orange and warm red; on the right the green still holds. A tall black lamp post with a glass lantern stands in the middle, with another further back. On the right, beneath the trees, is a wrought-iron bench with wooden slats, beside a low border of yellow-green planting. The far end of the alley dissolves into a pale morning haze. The beadwork is partial: beads cover the tree crowns, the fallen leaves on the path, the lamp post, the bench and the border, while the paving itself, the trunks and the misty depth of the alley stay printed on the canvas.
