Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Thaw"

“Thaw” shows a snowy bank and the dark water of a stream waking up under a low, warm sun.

What the picture shows

Two tall birches with reddish bark stand on the right; their fine branches turn gold against the light, and behind them the sky is warm and creamy, veined with pink and lilac. The left half is the cold one: a blue winter wood, frost on the bushes, dark trunks. Along the bottom a stream runs across the whole canvas — the snow beside it is blue with violet shadows, the water dark, broken with ice and glints of light. Small brown twigs lie scattered over the ice and snow. Beading is partial but dense: the snow, the water, the crowns and trunks and the frosted bushes are worked in beads, while the warm sky between the branches and the far wood stay printed on the canvas.
