“Tea with lemon” is a homely still life: a bouquet of asters and daisies in a glass vase, a sliced lemon on a plate and a cup of tea beside it.

What the picture shows

The bouquet is full: lilac and pink asters, white daisies with yellow centres, orange marigolds and small violet flowers on long stems. It stands in a clear round vase of water, the stems visible through the glass. On the left, lemon slices and a knife lie on a green plate next to a whole lemon. On the right stands a white-and-green cup of tea, with a yellow curtain falling behind it and a grey plank wall as the background.
