“Taste of the sun” — a wine bottle, a glass and bunches of grapes among vine leaves on a warm yellow ground. The piece is sunny and painted in a bright watercolour manner.

What the picture shows

A tall bottle with a dark sealed neck stands at the centre; its silhouette is striped with blue, crimson, yellow and green, as though light were passing through the glass. Behind it a glass with a clear stem is just discernible. Large vine leaves open out on either side — yellow and lime, veined with pink and turquoise — with thin curling tendrils reaching from them. Two bunches of grapes lie below, one pink-orange, the other deep cherry. The background is a blurred golden wash with spatters. The fill is partial: beads cover the bottle, the glass, the leaves, the tendrils and the grapes, while the warm painted ground stays printed on the canvas.
