Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Still life with a candle"

“Still life with a candle” brings together old books, silver vessels and a candle burning in a shaped metal dish.

What the picture shows

At the centre stand a red glass decanter with a silver top and a tall silver goblet in relief. On the left lies a stack of old books in worn bindings, with the metal dish and its lit candle set on top of them. A pale cloth falls over the edge of the table, a string of pearls scattered across it. The table is wooden and the background is dark boards. The whole scene is set inside a pale marbled frame printed directly on the canvas. Coverage is partial: beads go on the vessels, books, candle, pearls and cloth, while the background, tabletop and frame stay printed. The objects are set on a diagonal, from the books on the left to the goblet on the right, and each has its own texture: glass, silver, paper, cloth. The candle is the only light source, so the shadows are deep and the highlights small.
