What the picture shows

Right of centre stands a wooden windmill with four sails; its windows and door glow warm yellow, and the roof and walls are worked in brown and ochre shades. A large crescent moon, yellow-green inside, hangs at the upper left, and threads strung with tiny stars and flowers come down from the top edge. The sky is deep ink-blue, sown with yellow, white and pale blue stars. Below are green grass with yellow flowers, a wooden fence, and a small pale chick with a pink bow standing beside it. The beadwork is partial: you bead the windmill, the moon, the fence, the grass and the stars themselves, while the night sky between them stays as dark print on the canvas.
