Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Spring warbling"

“Spring warbling” is a decorative panel in which several birds have settled among ornamental flowers and green scrolls.

What the picture shows

The birds are stylised: at the centre a grey-green one with a red patch on its breast, below it a large brown bird with patterned wings and a painted tail, on the right a yellowish-grey bird with long blue-violet plumage, at the upper left another in green and yellow stripes, and at the bottom a chick peeping out of a nest from under a wing. Decorative motifs surround them: round flowers with fine petals, spirals, green shoots curling into snail shapes, small leafy patterning. The palette is green and lilac with ochre and a warm cream opening in the middle. Coverage is partial: the birds, flowers and scrolls are beaded, while the pale cream ground with its faint ornament stays as print on the canvas.
