“Seasonal change” — a dried autumn bouquet in a white jug, with a snowy landscape showing behind it.

What the picture shows

The bouquet gathers what is left at the end of the season: yellow lilies, fluffy dandelion clocks, ears of wheat, dry grasses, sprigs of red berries, tiny blue flowers and darkened leaves. The jug is white, and a cup and saucer stand beside it on a pale cloth. The left half of the background is dark cherry-burgundy with smoky swirls; the right half is light, showing a field, trees and cottages under snow. Coverage is partial: the bouquet, the china and a few accents in the background are beaded, while the swirls and the winter landscape stay printed on the canvas. The bouquet is loosely built, with gaps between the stems, and it is through those gaps that the snowy field shows — hence the title.
