What the picture shows

In the middle, against a pale grey-green ground, the tulips open wide: red, orange and golden petals with fine light veining, broad green leaves and slim stems below. The central rectangle is outlined in violet. Decorative strips run around it — plant scrolls above and below, a berry sprig and rows of small squares on the left, checked and dotted ornament in warm ochre on the right. The beadwork is partial: the tulips, the leaves and all the ornamental strips are beaded, while the marbled ground of the central panel stays as print.
