Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Rustle of letters"

“Rustle of letters” — a table crowded with old letters, roses and the small things that usually lie within reach. A detailed, homely piece.

What the picture shows

At the top is a big bundle of roses in a woven basket: yellow, peach, pink and white heads against patterned wallpaper. Below them, envelopes and sheets covered in handwriting and stamps are scattered about, some standing in a wooden pigeonhole box. On the right a red mug holds a bunch of pencils and brushes, next to a cup and saucer with a turquoise pattern and a piece of white cloth. At the lower left a dark blue jug appears, beside a wooden chest with copper handles. Coverage is dense and nearly continuous: beads fill the flowers, the china, the letters and the furniture, while the handwritten lines, the stamps and the corners of the wallpaper stay as print on the canvas. The palette is warm — yellow, peach and terracotta against a cool grey-blue ground.
