What the picture shows

Three lilies open in the middle of the canvas against a grey-green ground, with long recurved petals, visible stamens and narrow pointed leaves below; a small butterfly rests on one bloom. The petals are white with yellowish and pale blue shading. The central rectangle is outlined in lilac, and ornamental fields run around it: golden-red plant tracery on burgundy to the left, a light pattern on cherry red to the right, and strips of small squares and openwork scrolls above and below. The beadwork is partial: the lilies and all the ornament are beaded, while the soft blurred ground of the central panel stays as print.
