“Rich pumpkins” — an autumn yard with two heavy pumpkins beside a bench draped in a patchwork quilt.

What the picture shows

Two large orange pumpkins lie on the grass in front of an old wooden bench — the bigger one behind, the smaller in front, both with sturdy greyish-beige stems. A patchwork quilt of blue, pink, yellow and green squares is thrown over the back of the bench. Behind them are the peeling boards of an old shed, thuja bushes, a plank fence and a clump of yellow rudbeckia on the right. The light is warm and late in the day. Coverage is partial: beads fill the pumpkins, the quilt, the bench, the bushes and the grass, while part of the wooden wall and the far background stays painted on the canvas.
