“Pumpkin Field” — an autumn night in the country: a cottage with a red roof on the hillside, a field running down from it and ripe pumpkins below. The picture is warm, with a big moon and a fairy-tale mood.

What the picture shows

A small house with a steep red roof and lit windows stands on the slope at the upper right, with bands of yellow-ochre field running down towards the viewer. An old tree with a brown trunk and rust-coloured foliage spreads on the left, and a large pale moon shines behind it. Orange pumpkins lie in the green grass below, next to red fly agaric mushrooms with white spots. The sky is deep blue with small stars, and lilac and green hills rise on the right. The beadwork here is almost complete: the tree, the field, the house, the pumpkins, the grass and the sky are beaded, and only the moon and a few light patches stay as print.
