Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Pegasus"
Description
“Pegasus” — a winged horse woven from gold and turquoise curls, rising above a swirl of coffee-coloured cloud. The piece is decorative and full of movement: it has more ornament in it than anatomy.
What the picture shows
The horse fills almost the whole canvas: a proudly lifted head with sharp ears, a flying mane that turns into spirals, and a wing folded into one broad wave. Body and mane are laid out as dotted lines of cream, pale blue, ochre and warm brown beads, so the figure reads as lacework rather than a solid mass. The background is a brown vortex with cream streaks that turns and carries the movement of the mane; a few of its spirals also carry sparse beads. Coverage is partial: beads follow the contours and the pattern, while the depth of the background stays as print on the canvas. The horse's eye is a single dark bead — the only sharp detail in the whole piece.
