What the picture shows

Just right of centre, on the slope, stand three or four white houses with blue roofs; behind them rises a hill, deep violet at the top and orange-ochre lower down. Nearer the viewer the meadow fills the whole field: yellow sunflowers and small yellow blooms on the left, blue, crimson and pink flowers on the right, dark greenery between them. The western sky is pink, cream and pale blue with soft clouds. The beadwork is partial: you bead the flowering meadow, the slope, the houses and the hill, while the sky stays painted on the canvas and gives the piece its air. Because the painting is made of small strokes, the beading here reads dense and very colourful.
