Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Night-dreams"

“Night-dreams” shows a red-haired girl seated in a twilight sky, her dress flowing on into a dark sea dotted with paper boats.

What the picture shows

She sits in profile, eyes closed, hands folded in her lap. Long copper-red hair streams far to the right, caught by the wind. The bodice is deep blue with white and pale-blue beading along the edge, and the skirt spreads into an enormous wave: olive-green and violet bands scattered with tiny flowers on the left, blue water with white crests on the right. Paper boats sail across it and white paper birds lift into the air. A rain of little stars hangs at the left, and a thin crescent moon sits in the sky. Beading is partial: the hair, the patterns of the dress, the boats, the stars and the moon are worked in beads, while the grey-blue sky and the girl's face and hands stay printed on the canvas.
