What the picture shows

A large russet owl with round green eyes sits on a snowy branch, four owlets around her: two on the left, one tucked under her wing and one on the right. The plumage is worked in warm ochre, golden and brown shades speckled with white. The background is deep night blue scattered with small yellow stars; a thin crescent moon shines above, with two little white birds flying past it. Green leaves and small pink lantern-shaped flowers frame the branch on both sides. Coverage is full: beads cover the birds, the branch and the whole night sky, so the finished piece is solid beadwork.
