Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Next to mom"

“Next to mom” shows an elephant and her calf, patterned all over with scrolls, among lotuses and tropical greenery.

What the picture shows

The mother elephant stands in profile, trunk curving down; her body is covered with white and pale-blue spirals, dots and wavy lines, and a wreath of small flowers rests on her head. The calf presses close beside her, marked with the same ornament. The background shifts from turquoise on the left to crimson on the right, faint palm silhouettes showing through it. Pink lotuses with broad leaves flower along the bottom, a small palm rises at the left, and to the right stand yellow-orange heliconias, an openwork pavilion and an orange parasol on a slender pole. Beading is partial: the elephants, the flowers, the plants and the pavilion are worked in beads, while the soft coloured ground with its palm silhouettes stays printed on the canvas.
