What the picture shows

The girl fills almost the whole field. She has fair wavy hair and closed eyes, and she leans in with her cheek pressed to the bear. On her head is a wide straw hat trimmed with blue, pink and yellow flowers and green leaves. The teddy is reddish gold with a large blue-and-pink bow at its neck; she holds it in both arms. Her dress is white, with a lace collar and sleeve, and another white piece of clothing shows on the right. The background is a blurred greenish grey, like a garden on a dull day. Coverage is partial: beads work the hat, the flowers, the bear, the bow and the dress, while the face, the hair and the background stay printed on the canvas.
